    A popular venue for large group picnics and community events, this expansive 1,080.36-acre scenic park is located 3-miles west of I-95 along SR 520. The hardwood hammock, pastureland, prairie and wetland ecosystems inspire nature and wildlife enthusiasts, while the park amenities invite group activities. With a view toward a small nature lake, the large pavilion with a kitchen seats up to 600 people, and 2 small pavilions beside a larger lake are near a playground and restrooms. Individual picnic tables are also situated around the lake, with volleyball and horseshoe facilities nearby.The large lake features a natural canoe launch and fishing is welcomed there and in the tributaries, although swimming is not allowed. On the south side of the lake is a rustic tent camping site and 1-mile woodland nature trail, while another .25-nature trail with botannical markers is located near the large pavilion.

    8:00 a.m. to sundown, 365 days per year

    Hiking, picnicking, canoeing, fishing, primitive camping, and nature study

    DETAILED DIRECTIONS:

    From Melbourne, take I-95 north to Exit 75, SR-520. Turn left onto SR-520 and travel 4 miles to the park entrance.
